This is Thomas Jefferson’s other home. You are probably smart and know that Thomas Jefferson lived at this place in Virginia called Monticello. But you might not be as smart as the Hix family is (now) and know that TJ had a retreat home in another part of Virginia. It’s called Poplar Forest. It’s very pretty and fun but there are lots of gnats. Mom planned us a trip to go and visit the house one Saturday, so I took my camera because Hix family trips are always interesting and funny and there is usually a photo shoot involved.
